Specialties
-
Concussions
Common symptoms of an injured brain include headaches, dizziness, nausea, fogginess, tension, mood abnormalities, and issues with vital sign regulation. Our rehabilitative approach aims to reduce your post-concussive symptoms by healing and re-training your brain with neurological therapies, nutritional/hormonal interventions, and guidance to the proper musculoskeletal and psychological specialists, when necessary.
-
Migraines
Migraine is a genetic neurological condition. The most common migraine symptom is headache, but migraines can also cause dizziness, nausea, visual disturbances, numbness, weakness, and fatigue. Our rehabilitative approach aims to significantly reduce the frequency, intensity, and duration of your migraines by strengthening your brain with neurological therapies. We will also help identify and eliminate your migraine triggers with nutritional/hormonal interventions, and guidance to the proper musculoskeletal and psychological specialists, when necessary.
-
Dizziness/Vertigo
There are many different sensations of dizziness. Common dizziness symptoms include spinning sensations (vertigo), waving sensations, unsteadiness, clumsiness, motion sickness, blurred/double vision, and lightheadedness. The exact type of dizziness you experience helps us identify the likely cause of the dizziness, and the proper treatment method. Our rehabilitative approach aims to recalibrate your brain through various exercises and neurological/vestibular therapies to help reduce your dizziness. We will also direct you to the proper specialist for additional testing, if necessary.
Services
-
Consultation, Assessment, and Guidance
We think it’s important that you understand your condition and know all of your options. Through our virtual consultation and assessment, we will do our best to identify, and educate you about, the cause of your symptoms. We will guide you on all of your treatment options from most-conservative to most-invasive. We will also help you find other practitioners and services in your area that you may benefit from, if necessary.
-
Vestibular Rehabilitation
Vestibular dysfunction commonly leads to dizziness/vertigo, imbalance, tight muscles, pain, and more. We help rehabilitate the vestibular system by teaching you targeted head movement exercises. Specificity is key when retraining the vestibular system. Sometimes generalized vestibular therapies are beneficial, but often a tailored approach is necessary to stabilize your vestibular system appropriately. We do our best to design an exercise routine that gives you the best chance of improvement.
-
Eye Motion Rehabilitation
When the eyes do not move accurately, or in sync, you may experience blurred/double vision, eye strain/fatigue, tight muscles, pain, and more. Eye motion abnormalities can arise when an eye muscle is weak, when there is trauma to the eye, or due to brain dysfunction. We will help identify the cause of your eye motion abnormalities, teach you specific eye-motion therapies, and help you find the proper eye specialist for additional testing and treatment, if necessary.
-
Nutritional/Hormonal Interventions
Nutritional and hormonal issues can lead to fatigue, weight-gain, brain fog, mood abnormalities, and more. These issues also make it harder for us to build stability in your brain. We can guide you on your diet, and run specialized testing to identify any hormonal or nutritional imbalances. Our goal is to give your body the building blocks it needs to operate normally on its own, rather than more-invasive approaches like hormone replacement.
-
Musculoskeletal/Proprioceptive Rehabilitation
Proprioceptors are sensors in your muscles and joints that tell your brain about the position of the muscle and joint. When these sensors function abnormally due to trauma, misuse, or genetics, you may experience pain, tight muscles, dizziness, or incoordination. We aim to help improve your proprioception by advising you on various physical exercises, stretches, coordination exercises, and more. We can also guide you to the correct manual practitioner if you need hands-on work.
